Author's Rating
The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 is a mid-range desktop computer from the house of Acer that targets home users and people who need a second computer without any bells and whistles. The desktop is also a good fit for students and other people with more or less the same needs.
Though there is no dedicated graphics card or a high-powered processor, the Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 is still a good choice for many people with light use cases. How good is this desktop computer for the price? Is it worth spending your hard-earned money over? Let find that out.
Design
The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 desktop comes with the same tower design, but this time we have a slight redesign. We have a V-shape on the front face which adds a bit of style to the old, reused design. There is also a V-shaped LED button which serves as the power button.
On the front face, you will also find an array of ports that includes a USB C port, USB 3.0 port, an SD card reader, and even a mic and a headphone jack. There is enough space on the sides for ventilation which is expected.
The rest of the ports can be found on the back side of the desktop. There is room for upgrades on the inside which gives the user some options. The desktop is not that small, but it will fit into your room without any issues. It does take up some space, thanks to its medium size. Overall, a pretty decent desktop design that doesn’t seem dull.
The desktop comes with a keyboard and a mouse. Both are standard stuff, and there is nothing special to talk about.
Performance
When it comes to performance, the Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 does a pretty decent job. We have an Intel Core i3 processor from the 8th generation of Intel chips. This chip comes with 4 cores and a base clocking frequency of 3.6GHz.
For a light user, the processor is a very good fit. It can run through your everyday tasks like browsing the web, working on office applications, and even some light gaming without any issues.
If you are a mid-range user, you can also use this desktop to good effect. Running applications like photo editing tools and programming IDEs are very possible with this new Intel chip.
How about memory management? The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 has an 8GB DDR4 type memory stick. While 8GB is reaching its limit regarding what we can do with it, it can still be ample memory for a lot of users. For example, you can even run a couple of mid-range applications side by side without going through any lag.
The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 desktop comes with 1TB of 7200RPM hard drive space. This HDD gives you a lot of space for all your data. While there is a lot of space to play, the hard drive disk is not as fast as a solid-state drive. Booting up the operating system and opening applications is a bit slow. If you are used to using an SSD before, then this will take you back to the stone ages.
The hard drive disk also comes with Windows 10 pre-installed.
Gaming
The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 desktop does not come with a dedicated graphics card. The desktop only comes with an Integrated GPU that is the Intel UHD graphics 630.
The integrated graphics solution provided by Intel has improved over the years and is now a perfect solution. But regardless of how good they become, they are still not as good as dedicated graphics solutions.
With this integrated GPU in place, you can play some light games, and even some mid-range games with their settings toned down. If you are someone who likes to game, then this desktop computer is not a good option for you.
Connectivity
The Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 comes with a myriad of connectivity options. The desktop comes with Bluetooth 5.0 which gives you more area coverage. You can now connect a device that is much farther away from your desktop computer.
The built-in 802.11ac WiFi connectivity assures you high internet speeds and also eliminates wires. You also have the Gigabit Ethernet port which can give you excellent internet speeds.
When it comes to ports, the Acer Aspire TC-885-ACCFLi3 has it all. There is a USB type C port, a USB 3.1 gen 2 port, 2 USB 3.1 gen 2 ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, 2 HDMI ports, and also a VGA port.
The mic and the headphone jack can be found on the front face which is a lot easier to access. There is also an optical drive on the front side as well. Not many computers these days come with an optical drive, so that’s something.
